Take a minute/Blog/corrections
reader's workshop/ RJ
week 2: G.Q.Q.L
The writing process
We started off the day by writing the schedule and fixing yesterday's blog by correcting any misspelled words and fixing capitalization and punctuation.
After we fixed the blog, we then skimmed through the pages of last night's homework which were pages 75 - 99 of S.T. Then, we talked about the pages that we read. We also talked a bit about how tone can change the meaning and/or definition of a word or phrase. After, we looked back over the pages and we wrote our summary.
Then, we went to our reading notes and quickly looked over what we wrote from yesterday such as the grammar and the quote. Then, we wrote our first line which was "I was made for the library, not the classroom. The classroom was a jail of other people's interest; the library was open, unending, free." by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
We talked about the writing process:
1. pre-writing
2. drafting
3. revising
4. editing
5. publishing
Lastly, we packed up and left the class.
